CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University (APSU) officials say the victim in a shooting Sunday on Nolen Rd. is a student-athlete at APSU.
The shooting occurred at The Grove apartment complex.
The student and football player at APSU sustained multiple wounds. He was transported to a medical facility, where he has undergone multiple surgeries and is expected to recover.
The suspect was identified as Marcus Mitchell of Clarksville. He was arrested Sunday and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Possession, and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
The incident is still under investigation by Clarksville Police Department.
