Annick (Grams) Sims, 74, passed away October 1, 2013 at her home in Clarksville after a valiant fight against cancer.

Grams was born on September 24, 1939 in Saint Nazaire, France where half of her heart always lived. Grams was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who had a passion for life-long learning, speaking her mind, and, of course, France. Her favorite hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and tending to her twenty or so orchids. Pet peeves included wasting money, bad manners, and commercials on American TV. Grams loved her family, pot au feu, seafood, Camembert, Ricard, and the occasional flute of Champagne.

A petite intelligent lady with a heart of gold and fierce devotion to her loved ones and ideals, Grams always felt that she had lived a very good life. She was accepting of the inevitable and brave until the end.

Grams was preceded in death by her son Bruno Sims of Fort Worth, TX in 2007 and her loving husband CSM Robert Sims who succumbed to his own fight against cancer, also in 2007.

Close family includes her loving daughter Sonia Roberts-Baggett of Clarksville, son-in-law Larry Baggett of Clarksville, granddaughters Cosette Roberts of Clarksville and Cassie Roberts of Boston, MA, sister Lucette Torano, and brothers Daniel Torzec and Jean Pierre Torzec, all of France.

The family would like to thank Gateway Hospice, Dr. Gary Cole of the Peoples Clinic, and Dr. Sally York of Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center for their compassion and commitment.

Although her remains will be cremated, her memory will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers you may make donations to Gateway Hospice or just do something nice for someone today. There will be no services per Grams’s request.

Arrangements entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
