Clarksville, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Montgomery County Relay for Life held their kick-off event Thursday for the American Cancer Society at Old Glory Distilling Co. Over 50 people were there to learn more about the organization and also to sign up for the 2019 Relay for Life fundraiser set for May 11 at Governors Square Mall.
Co-Chairman Melissa Hogan shared details about this year’s event. “We’re going to have a lot of the same things we’ve been doing and we’re going to have some new and exciting things. We want people to come out and join us to help raise money for the American Cancer Society,” Hogan said.
Hogan added that the new site for Relay for life this year is the parking lot of Governors Squall Mall near the old Sears location from Noon- 9 p.m.
“Spread the word, like us on facebook, share our event, talk to the community, your neighbors, friends and family. It’s all about getting the word out there because we want our event to grow and we can only do that with your help,” said Co-Chairman Kristen Stepp about what people can do to support the local Relay for Life and American Cancer Society.
