CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville-Montgomery Council Adult Literacy Council (ALC) recently welcomed new board members to the organization. The ALC provides free one-on-one and small group tutoring for adults who want to learn or improve their reading or English, get their HISET (High School Equivalency Test), or learn basic computer skills.
“It’s been quoted that the success of any nonprofit organization depends largely on the leadership by its board members. That certainly describes the governing board of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Adult Literacy Council. In 2017, I look forward in fighting against illiteracy in our community together with such caring individuals,” said Executive Director Velma Jo Williams.
