CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Fifty veterans and veteran spouses were honored on Veterans Day at Fieldstone Place Independent and Assisted Living.

There were veterans ranging from World War II, to the Vietnam War, to the present to be honored for their time and service. They were presented with a certificate and a pin and recognized for their service.

When asked what it meant to be able to speak to veterans who served before himself guest speaker Major John S. Hallums said, “It is important for us to honor and learn from our veterans.”

WWII veteran Frank Mumma was one of the individuals recognized. He was able to share a scrapbook of his time in Europe during WWII and also his trip with Screaming Eagle Honor Flight with Major Hallums. Mumma had a twin brother who also served next to him in the Army during WWII.

Veteran Marvin Ficklin closed by addressing the spouses in attendance. “On behalf of all the rest of the guys I’m going to take the privilege of thanking each and every one of you for your support,” he said.
