CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) –  A Clarksville man accused of taking explicit photos of a teenager was sentenced to eight years in prison by Judge William Goodman earlier this month.

Timothy Grantham was charged with 19  counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of aggravated statutory rape.

On Sept. 16, 2019, Grantham took an open guilty plea to one count of aggravated statutory rape and one count of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Judge William Goodman sentenced him to a total of  8 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections to serve at 85 percent. He must also register as a sex offender and will be on community supervision for life.

Grantham had a girlfriend who was about 15 0r 16 years old and took photos and videos of them engaged in sexual encounters. He also confessed to taking the images as well as the relationship.

Grantham is believed to be approximately 29 years old at the time of his sentencing.
