CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two men with lengthy criminal histories were recently apprehended again in Clarksville.

Clarksville police said several witnesses spotted 24-year-old Gavin Ray Oliver entering an unlocked Cadillac in the parking lot of the Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Walmart on Aug. 6 around 4 a.m. When officers spoke to him, Oliver said the vehicle was his and gave them a fake name.

Police discovered he had someone else’s driver license as well as an active warrant for violation of probation.

Oliver was also in the company of 27-year-old Jacob Scott Knight, who has a long criminal history involving theft and drugs. At the time of his arrest, Knight was allegedly in possession of a stolen credit card, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He also had warrants on file.

Both men were taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Oliver was charged with vehicle burglary, criminal impersonation, theft of property, and violation of probation. His bond was set at $45,000.

Knight was charged with theft of property, unlawful drug paraphernalia, three counts of simple possession, and methamphetamine. His bond was set at $24,500.
