CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A teen was arrested in Clarksville after allegedly robbing a woman inside a store.

Police said the victim, a woman in her 20s, was inside a store on the 300 block of Madison Street November 4 around 5:30 p.m. She said a 14-year-old boy approached her outside and asked for money but she declined.

Once she was inside, the teen reportedly followed her around the store and stole keys from her hand. She screamed and the teen fled the scene.

The next day the victim was driving on Golf Club Lane and notified police after she saw the juvenile walking down the street. Detective Bradley interviewed the juvenile and determined he was the one who had robbed the woman.

Police also determined the teen intended to rob the store, but the clerk was not present at the time so he chose to rob the woman instead.

The 14-year-old was charged with robbery and transported to a juvenile detention facility.
