This exhibit features original, candid photographs of America’s iconic illustrator Norman Rockwell. From the Charles and Joy Flint Collection. Exhibit sponsored in part by Clarksville Dental Center.

In the Footsteps of Alvin York – Through September 28th
Alvin York was one of the most decorated World War I soldiers from Tennessee. This exhibit celebrating his life is brought to us by the Museum of the American Military Experience. Sponsored in part by Nanette Morford Allstate Agency.

The Ex-Pats – Through September 1st
These paintings are by expat artists living in the Nashville area.

F. Luis Mora – Through September 1st
F. Luis Mora (1874 – 1940) was a Hipanic-American artist, working in watercolor, oil, and tempera paints. His illustrations were published in widely read magazines such as Ladies’ Home Journal, and is in the collections of over 30 museums, including the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. See his sketches and illustrations from the Customs House Museum collection, now on display.

Diane Davich-Craig: Paintings & Ponderings – Through August 30th
Nashville artist Diane Davich-Craig’s work is colorful, happy and sometimes has a little joke waiting for you to notice. Bringing inanimate objects to life is a favorite subject for her. This Exhibit is sponsored by Nashville Arts Magazine.

Art of the Staff – August 5th through September 27th
See a variety of work created by the staff at the Customs House Museum, on display in the lobby gallery.

Join us for the First Thursday Art Walk on August 6th. The museum will be open with free admission from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Meet artist Diane Davich-Craig and see her exhibit Paintings & Ponderings, on display through August 30th.

This activity explores exhibits through specific topics and includes a story and a craft.

Family Day: “I Want to be an Artist”
August 8, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Art is not just something we hang in galleries or on our walls. Join us today as we explore how artists make our clothing, dinnerware, books, advertisements, wallpaper, and more, so visually appealing. Stop in the Children’s Room to create an ad, design a pattern for a plate or a t-shirt, or draw a picture of a house to live in underwater.

Back to School Celebration: “Under the Big Top”
August 12
Enjoy circus activities in the Children’s Room all day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The model trains will run from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Story Time with Ms. Sue

Join us as we learn about illustrators and their styles while listening to wonderful stories.

Open Daily 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
