Christian Harrison had to cross the stage in a wheelchair after spending the past week in bed recovering from his fall at Queens Bluff in Clarksville, according to WKRN News 2.

“I’m just really happy to be here,” he said. “This is literally all I have been looking forward to. It’s like, ‘Oh graduation, graduation, graduation.’”

The 18-year-old has a broken ankle and a fractured back after falling from a cliff while exploring caves from friends.

“I heard all my classmates cheering for me and it meant the world and a half like it meant so much to me,” said Harrison at graduation Friday afternoon.

“The good thing about being in bed so long is and being alone by myself is I have had time to consider everything and if anything this has given me a more of a reason to live,” said Harrison. “I’m lucky to be alive, so I am choosing not to waste my time anymore.”

He said he’s going to start pursuing things more and doing what he loves.

“I’m going to pursue my dreams more and I’m all around going to go after my dreams,” he continued.

He will be attending Austin Peay State University in August where he plans to major in acting and directing.

Harrison already had one surgery on his ankle last week and has another scheduled for next week.
