Martha Louise Best, 95, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Signature Healthcare of Clarksville.
Martha was born on January 8, 1920, in Clarksville, TN to the late Joseph Alvie and Irva Mae Welch Farmer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Best; three brothers, James Farmer, Carl Farmer, and Lewis Farmer; and sister, Rachel Farmer.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Mike Madewell, Dr. Steve Louder, and Derrick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Martha was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.
Martha is survived by her son, Terry Best (Elaine); daughter, Judy Best; two sisters, Lela Margaret Farmer and Betty Jo Griffin (Billy); five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Best, Nathan Best, Eddie Farmer, Joe Farmer, Marty Williams, and Keith Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Farmer and Billy Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Building Fund, 2204 Jarrell Ridge Road, Clarksville, TN 37043.
