John Kincheloe Hopson, age 58, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Alive Hospice, in Nashville.
He was born on November 5, 1955 in Hardinsburg, KY, to the late Price Hopson and Nancy Kincheloe Hopson.
John worked for Tennessee Farm Bureau Insurance for nearly 40 years. He was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 10, at Madison Street United Methodist Church, with Rev. Cliff Wright officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, at Madison Street United Methodist Church, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Friday at the church.
John is survived by his wife, Martha Kimbrough Hopson; three sons, Price Kimbrough (Shannon) Hopson, of Clarksville, John Kincheloe (Helen) Hopson, of Nashville, and Landon Beaumont (Taylor) Hopson, of Clarksville; daughter, Emory Lloyd Hopson, of Nashville; brother, Price Edwards (Kay) Hopson, of Clarksville; sister, Mary Fisher, of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Lucy Hopson and Lily Hopson; a loving extended family; Ben and Margaret Kimbrough, Sr.; Ben and Beverly Kimbrough; Bill and Betsy Kimbrough; and all of his loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jon Clouser, Rob Clouser, Randy Clouser, Jim Durrett, Johnny Rudolph, Brandon Rippy, Cecil Morgan, and Doug Bradbury. Honorary pallbearers will be his Texas & Canada Hunting Groups, John’s Farm Bureau family, Jeff Cates, Wade Hadley, Sr., and Lee Scott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Hopson Fund, c/o Madison Street United Methodist Church, 319 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040; or the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, 3322 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
