CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Roxy Regional Theatre will celebrate 23 seasons of professional live theatre by inviting patrons to see songs and stories from the theatre’s past three decades in A NIGHT ON THE TERRAZZO, playing August 22 throught September 12.
Performed in a cabaret setting in the theatre’s lobby, A NIGHT ON THE TERRAZZO features over two dozen songs from the company’s history, from its inaugural performance of Mack and Mabel to subsequent productions of Cabaret, Singin’ in the Rain, Kiss Me Kate, West Side Story, Footloose and others. Selections include “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “Where the Boys Are,” “Memory,” “Mr. Cellophane,” “Johnny B. Goode” and more, performed by Ryan Bowie, Corinne Bupp, Allie McCaw and Chase Miller, with Tom Thayer on piano.
Anecdotes about Clarksville’s historic corner of Franklin and First will be featured, from its beginnings in the early 1900s as silent movie house The Lillian, through the building’s transformation into a first-run movie theatre. Also included will be the current Roxy Regional Theatre and future plans for a new center for arts and education.
This musical revue is being presented as part of the Roxy’s “On The Terrazzo” Series, which features performances in the intimate setting of the theatre’s lobby. A limited number of tables and chairs are available, and seating is general admission.
A NIGHT ON THE TERRAZZO will be playing Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, September 6. Tickets are $20, including a beverage and light refreshments, and may be reserved online, by phone at 931-645-7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to curtain.
