The Clarksville Jeep Crew fully acknowledges and supports the Highway Department’s warning regarding the rapidly deteriorating and hazardous road conditions across Montgomery County. Public safety remains the top priority for all agencies and volunteers involved in emergency response during severe weather events.
Since 2019, the Clarksville Jeep Crew has served the community by providing free vehicle recovery and essential staff transportation during periods of inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Our operations are conducted in close coordination with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) to ensure our efforts complement, rather than hinder, official emergency and roadway operations.

Our role is intentionally limited and targeted. By assisting with the removal of stranded vehicles and transporting essential personnel, we help reduce obstructions in roadways, allowing Highway Department, city, state, and emergency vehicles to operate more safely and efficiently. Without these coordinated recovery efforts, roadway congestion caused by disabled vehicles would place additional strain on plowing, treatment operations, and emergency response resources.
We strongly discourage self-dispatching or uncoordinated volunteer activity. Only trained members operating under established protocols and in direct coordination with local law enforcement should be on the roads. Members of the public are urged to follow official guidance and remain off roadways unless travel is essential or emergency-related.
