CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Green Hill Hawks traveled to “The Castle” for a matchup with the Kenwood Knights on Thursday night. While it was a close game at halftime, Kenwood pulled away in the third quarter, only for Green Hill to erase a 23-point deficit in the fourth, as the Hawks stole a 59-54 win on the road.
The first half was a battle for each team, with Green Hill taking a 19-10 lead after the first quarter, led by two threes and eight total points from Jaylen Searcy in the opening period.

However, Kenwood responded in the second quarter as they outscored the Hawks 19-8, captained by 10 first half points from Jaylen Hill to take a two-point lead heading into the locker room, 29-27.
23-point fourth quarter comeback
The third quarter was a completely different story, as Kenwood stormed out of the halftime break still carrying their momentum.
The Knights outscored Green Hill 21-9 in the third, including three three-pointers from Jeremiah Buckner. All of a sudden, the game had switched hands, but Green Hill wasn’t done yet.
They went on to hold the Knights to only four points scored in the final quarter of action, while they scored 23 of their own, including 12 points from Jack McChurch, to shock the crowd and steal a win late on the road.
Coach’s corner
“We were bad in the first and fourth quarter, and we have to be better during those periods,” said Kenwood High boys’ basketball coach Chase Cronin. “We had a lot of turnovers late, and we didn’t communicate well on the defensive end; that’s not a good combination. Just have to be better as a unit.”
