Rep. Maberry pulls victim from car
State Rep. Aron Maberry was about 30 feet from the crash when it happened and slammed on his brakes to avoid it. He told Clarksville Now that the semi was going in the other direction and crossed the median, cutting sideways across westbound traffic.
Maberry said that after he stopped, he saw that a black sedan was hit by the semi. The engine was smoking and a man was inside. Maberry saw that the engine was on fire and pulled the man out of the car, holding him at the side of the road until help arrived. He said the man was injured and bleeding from his hand but seemed to be otherwise OK.
“I’m a little shaken up; it played out right in front of me,” said Maberry, who was in a wreck involving a semi four years ago – one he’s still recovering from. “It looks like everyone is alive, and I thank God for that.”
