Lazy Spread Christmas Tree Farm

Next up is the Lazy Spread Christmas Tree Farm near the Woodlawn community, which also sits about 20 minutes from downtown Clarksville at 3682 Dailey Road.

Lazy Spread’s history began in 1970 when Frank Trice purchased 10 acres from Elzie Shepherd on Dailey Road, according to the farm’s website. Once purchasing the property, Trice immediately began planting pine trees and then began buying additional acreage.

Now, the Lazy Spread Farm has planted at least 500 seedlings every year since 2005 and had a soft opening in 2008. “We are still a small family farm, trying to help make your Christmas just a little bit better,” said their website.

“Lazy Spread Farms is offering a special opportunity this Thanksgiving weekend, Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th, inviting visitors to come and cut their own ‘Pioneer’ Pines,” said Lydia Johnson with Lazy Spread Farms. “These trees are grown naturally and intentionally left unrefined, creating an authentic, back-to-nature Christmas tree experience. Ranging from five to fifteen feet tall, each tree reflects the rustic charm of traditional holiday evergreens.”

Johnson said their family will be around to help with cutting, loading and strapping. Alongside tree-cutting, they are also offering handmade, all-natural white pine wreaths crafted from farm-grown pine.
