CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Cane Ridge Ravens traveled to Hilda J Richardson Field for a region 5-6A matchup with the Wildcats of Clarksville High School.

CHS scored early and often to win by a commanding score of 37-0, extending Clarksville High’s winning streak to eight games. The win also makes the senior class of 2026 the winningest class in Clarksville High School history.

Wildcats build 27-point first half lead

Clarksville High running back Morgan Padilla got the party started early with a rushing touchdown from two yards out on the Wildcats’ first drive. Receiver Colie Reynolds then caught a long pass from quarterback Kayden Pledger to set up first and goal inside the one, which led to Bryson Ellington punching it in for Clarksville High’s second touchdown of the game.

The Ravens’ defense was able to manufacture a few stops after that, keeping the Wildcats out of the endzone for 12 minutes of game time, but Clarksville’s defense was suffocating, and not much was going well offensively for Cane Ridge.

Pledger got the wildcats back on the board with a three-yard rushing score, then Ahvare Galbreath got in on the action with his own three-yard score right before the half to head into the break with a commanding 27-0 lead.

“Team wins are the best ones,” Wildcats head coach Isaac Shelby told Clarksville Now. “These guys have kept working hard over this win streak, and they’ve come together in a big way. We have an unselfish group that doesn’t care who has the ball. They executed very well, and it was a fun game to be a part of.”

Another Ellington touchdown on the Wildcats’ first drive of the second half was the only scoring to speak of for the final 24 minutes, as Clarksville High cruised to their eighth straight win, and head into the postseason as the number one seed in region 5-6A with a matchup with Independence in the first round.

The Wildcats have lost their first-round contest two straight years and look to change that next week.

“I know we started 0-2, but those teams turned out to be pretty good, and we did too,” said Shelby. “We will go look at a bunch of tape; they’re a really well-coached and talented team. We’ll have to come up with a plan to try and hold them down.”
