FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Fort Campbell High senior running back and linebacker Keshawn Dixon has been selected as one of the top players in the nation for the Military Appreciation Bowl in Frisco, Texas, on Dec. 21. The game will be held in the Dallas Cowboys’ practice facilities in Frisco.
The Bowl features a network of scouts and recruiting partners nationwide that select the best players in each position nationwide. According to former Executive Director of the NFL Coaches Association Larry Keenan, this bowl game “still represents the best talent of high school football on one field in all of America.”
“It means a lot to me, getting noticed at a small school and often getting overlooked,” Dixon told Clarksville Now. “It makes me feel proud to see that my countless hours of work are paying off. I’m not going to let off the gas, but instead, this is going to make me drive harder and faster. I feel over and beyond blessed to be in this position, to have coaches that care about my future, to have a team that is with me no matter what, and a family that supports me and keeps me going.”
Dixon has had a special start to his senior season, rushing for 794 yards in the Falcons’ last three contests, and scoring 14 touchdowns in that same time frame. As a linebacker, he led the state of Kentucky in tackles last year with 156.
