CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We may see storms this afternoon and evening in Clarksville, with a slight chance of damaging wind and large hail.

Weather will be unsettled through Friday, with periods of showers and thunderstorms and the highest chances Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Today, some of the storms today could be strong to severe, coming mainly 3 through 11 p.m. The primary threats are damaging wind gusts and large hail.

Some of the storms could be stronger on Thursday also with wind and hail being the main concern. Cooler, drier weather returns this weekend.

This afternoon: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.
Wednesday night: A slight chance of showers between 3am and 4am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 68. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Thursday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1am and 4am, then a chance of showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
