CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Wyatt Johnson Toyota held its annual Children’s Christmas Party on Thursday, making wishes come true for 42 children. “It’s my favorite event we do, making the magic of Christmas shing in the eyes of little children,” said Brian Burkeen, general manager of Wyatt Johnson Toyota.

The children served are from the Montgomery Central Head Start Program. Head Start is a nationally recognized child development program designed to meet the educational, mental, nutritional and social needs of 3- and 4-year-olds and their families. Special services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities.

For the Christmas party, every kid writes a letter to Santa with their wants and needs. “Then we start Christmas shopping, filling Santa bags with winter clothes, hats, gloves and shoes for those in extreme need. Then a few toys, to help lessen the burden on their families during the holidays.” Burkeen said.

Families also enjoyed cookie decorating, games, sensory bins, food from Chick-fil-A, and hot chocolate. The kids were then surprised by Santa Claus himself, courtesy of Randall Hayes. Santa rolled up in a new Toyota Tacoma.

“I look forward to this Christmas event every year — it truly brings the magic of the season to life,” Burkeen said. “The showroom transforms with the spirit of Christmas, filled with love and joy. Seeing the pure excitement and happiness on the kids’ faces, knowing they’re receiving gifts chosen just for them, is incredibly heartwarming and a reminder of what the holidays are all about.”
