CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Four years after a man was shot to death near an apartment complex on Austin Peay State University’s campus, federal agents have located and arrested a suspect who is now in custody.

On Oct. 28, 2019, the Clarksville Police Department responded to shots fired near Hand Village Avenue, and it was found that 22-year-old Serdyrin Brown had been shot. While he received medical care, he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, according to a U.S. Marshal’s press release.

A warrant was then issued on June 4 of this year for the arrest of Turnity Rossell, who was wanted in connection to the death of Brown. The warrant had been issued for first-degree murder, as well as aggravated robbery.

On Sept. 24, the case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Middle Tennessee Fugitive Task Force, and they were assisted by the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force to help locate Rossell after they developed information that the suspect was in the Memphis area.

In their effort to locate Rossell, on Oct. 17, the Two Rivers Task Force went to a residence in Memphis where they were aided by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Memphis Police. Rossell was then located and placed under arrest.

After initially lying about his identity, he soon cooperated with the Task Force investigators and was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center without incident, the release said.
