CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One of the nation’s top recruits in Imari Berry made history on Monday night in a district championship showdown after she became the all-time leading scorer in Clarksville High history. Berry surpassed CHS legend Bashaara Graves and her record of 2,397 points scored and now, the senior guard looks to continue building upon the new record.
“It feels great to finally break it,” Berry said. “It took me forever honestly, and people have been in my ear about it. It’s good to get it over with, and I’m grateful to hold that record. Bashaara always checks up on me and asks to go to the gym if she’s in town. No matter how far she is, she’s always been there for me.”

Clarksville High head coach Brian Rush told Clarksville Now that this record is a testament to the work Berry has put in throughout her playing career.
“She’s put in so much work over the years she’s been here,” Rush said. “To even be mentioned in the same sentence as Bashaara is an accomplishment in itself. I’m just proud of her.”
Now that this record has fallen, Berry told Clarksville Now she has two more records she wants to crack. 45 points in a game, which is the current record held by Graves, and winning a state championship, which has never been done in Clarksville High History.
In addition to her record-breaking performances, Berry has accomplished so much over this past year of play, including being named a finalist for the Miss Basketball award at the class 4A level. She also earned McDonald’s All-American honors during the 2023-24 season.
