CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A man speeding away from a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy crashed in a Clarksville neighborhood early Saturday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m., a deputy saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Dover Road in the area of Magnolia Drive, according to MCSO Sgt. Bishop Delaney.

The deputy turned around to try and catch up to the vehicle, a Dodge Ram 1500. The truck cut through a store parking lot and then turned onto Kelsey Lane. The deputy followed him and  activated his emergency lights and siren. The truck then accelerated rapidly, and the deputy lost sight of it.

When the deputy caught up to the truck, he found it had crashed through the yard of a home on Kelsey Lane, where it struck a parked vehicle and a tree, Delaney said.

The driver, Garrison Meadows, 21, was arrested and charged with DUI, two counts of reckless endangerment, felony evading and speeding. One passenger was transported to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville and another was flown by LifeFlight to Nashville for treatment.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation of the crash. No further information has been released.
