Update, 1:05 p.m.: At about 12:04 p.m., a wind gust of 61 mph was recorded at Clarksville Regional Airport, according to the National Weather Service.

Update, 11:20 a.m.: Another outage has cut power in the St. Bethlehem area. There are now 2,700 customers without power in Clarksville.

Update, 11 a.m.: Crews found wire down on Union Street downtown and are working as quickly and safely as possible to get power restored, according to CDE Lightband.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – About 850 homes and businesses lost power Monday morning due to high winds in Clarksville, including the public library and offices at Veterans Plaza.

At about 10:45 a.m., CDE Lightband was reporting 856 customers without power.

Power was out at Veterans Plaza, according to Montgomery County spokesperson Michelle Newell.

Only a few customer outages were reported by CEMC in the county, outside the city limits.

Wind Advisory

Montgomery and surrounding counties are under a Wind Advisory through 6 p.m. Monday. Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts of 40 to 45 mph will be possible, according to the National Weather Service.

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects,” the advisory said. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
