Update, 7:47 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Montgomery, Houston, Dickson and Cheatham counties until 8:30 p.m.
At 7:45 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Big Rock to near McEwen, moving northeast at 55 mph.
There’s a risk of 60 mph wind gusts. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
This includes Interstate 24 between mile markers 1 and 16.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
Update, 7:30 p.m.: Stewart and Houston counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
At 7:19 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Paris Landing State Park to near New Johnsonville, moving northeast at 70 mph.
Update, 6:40 p.m.: CDE outages are down to about 100.
Update, 6:20 p.m.: About 2,200 CDE customers have lost power, mainly in the Northwest High area of Clarksville.
“We are seeing multiple scattered outages and are getting those restored as quickly and safely as possible,” CDE said.
There are about 420 CEMC power outages in Montgomery County.
Update, 6:05 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Stewart County until 6:30 p.m.
At 6 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Paris Landing State Park, moving northeast at 70 mph. There’s a risk of 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees in Dover, Big Rock and Land Between The Lakes. Residents in the warning area should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
Update, 5:30 p.m.: A Tornado Watch has been issued by the NWS for Montgomery and surrounding counties until 1 a.m.
That means conditions are right for a tornado to form. If a tornado is spotted, a warning will be issued.
About 300 CDE Lightband customers in Clarksville have lost power. About 100 CEMC customers in Montgomery County have lost power.
Update, 2:30 p.m.: Fort Campbell reports it will be under a Tornado Watch from 6-9 p.m. today, with the potential for a tornado within 10 miles of Fort Campbell.
The post will be under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning from 4-10:30 p.m. Damaging hail and damaging winds greater than or equal to 52 mph are expected.
Update, 2:25 p.m.: CDE Lightband is receiving calls about blinking lights in the Trenton Road area.
“Wind gusts are already causing problems ahead of the severe weather we are expecting this evening. There is likely a tree on a line – we have crews working to locate the cause and getting it cleared,” CDE said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Storms should roll across Clarksville at about 7 p.m. today, preceded by heavy winds up to 55 mph.
“Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into this evening. Damaging winds are the primary threat, but tornadoes are also possible,” according to the National Weather Service update on Wednesday morning.
“In addition to thunderstorms, non-thunderstorm wind gusts up to 55 mph are expected mid-morning hours today through this evening.”
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. today until 1 a.m. Thursday, with sustained winds of 20-30 mph expected.
The storm should bring 1 to 1.25 inches of rain.
