Athletic Director Garry Chadwell spoke on what the postseason run meant to Kenwood Athletics detailing how a district championship is always a great accomplishment, as the team developed night-in and night-out. He credited first-year head coach Chase Cronin for leading the charge throughout the season. Furthermore, he credited role players from last year’s team who stepped up in significant ways.

“Each team had their fans turn out to support their squads. It was a sight to behold and only intensified the atmosphere,” Chadwell said. “Home-court advantage paid dividends in a variety of ways though. The team did not have to travel and it made it easier for our fans to attend. In addition, our guys had familiarity with the gym so that played to our advantage too.”

The Knights followed the District 14-Class 4A championship with a 73-52 regional win against inner-city opponent Northeast High. However, their season would come to an end after a close loss to Rossview High.
