CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Dinner with the Trucks, a popular series bringing together local food trucks every week, is returning March 12 with a new date and time, alongside new opportunities for food truck fans.
Previously held on Friday evenings, Dinner with the Trucks is moving to Saturday evenings. The event will be on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, according to organizer Shirley Brown, who oversees the Clarksville Food Trucks Group and the Clarksville and Surrounding Area Food Scene on Facebook.
An explosive food scene
The food truck scene continues to grow in Clarksville. As of this year, Brown told Clarksville Now she has 59 food trucks from Clarksville, Hopkinsville and Nashville signed up to take part in Dinner with the Trucks.
“The food truck scene all the sudden blew up on me,” Brown said.
Several truck owners have used that success to expand into brick-and-mortar businesses, including Flavorz Seasoned Kitchen and Kadi’s.
New events upcoming
Dinner with the Trucks is not the only event for local food truck fans this year. Brown said she has a new series premiering this year, Friday Food Truck Frenzy.
On the first Friday each month, food trucks will gather in downtown Clarksville at One Public Square for the lunch hour. The event will kick off Feb. 18 from 11-2 p.m.
This year, food trucks will be gathering every day for lunch at various locations throughout the city, giving more options for fans.
“This is a big move for the city. It’s huge that we are now able to give this opportunity to be able to set the food trucks up for lunchtime on a daily basis,” Brown said.
