CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Bones Family have been a site to enjoy for almost a decade. Sarah Garcia has always credited a significant part of that to her father, Glen Gustafson, who passed away this year.

“He’s been a huge help and inspiration during the time the Boneses have happened,” Garcia said. “He would always tell me ‘Whenever I die, just put me in your graveyard.'”

So this year, that’s what they did, complete with Gustafson’s photo and a tombstone joke.

Some of the scenes that they have planned for this season are things that Garcia’s dad would have liked to see, such as a beach day, walking the dead carpet, and a surprise party.

The decorations go beyond the bones, however, they have also expanded their “Cat and Cauldron” theme from last year onto their front door, where there is a boney bellhop awaiting your visit.

The decorations that adorn the front yard are mostly made of foam.

She said they see at least 20 people a day visiting their yard, “not counting the people who live in the neighborhood and drive by it regularly,” Garcia said.

Garcia told Clarksville Now that they get over 1,000 visitors on Halloween night, some of whom are from out of state.

“Last year, we had a family that came here from Michigan,” Garcia said. “To think that the Boneses have such an impact on people’s lives that they plan a vacation around; it is a dream.”

There is something new to explore every night when you visit the Bones Family through the month of October at 2679 Elkmont Drive off of the Sugar Tree subdivision.
