CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a machinery fire Tuesday at 901 Alfred Thun Road involving a magnesium cutting machine at the Aludyne factory.
The calls came in at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday morning. The fire was caused by a machine that cuts magnesium for vehicle parts, according to CFR Assistant Fire Chief Michael Rios, and all personnel were evacuated and have been accounted for.

Two injuries were reported, and both were transported to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville for treatment, however the nature and extent of their injuries was not provided.
“Magnesium reacts to water, so we have to use several large Class ‘D’ fire extinguishers to bring the fire under control,” Rios said.

There was no further information immediately available.
Clarksville Now has reached out to Aludyne for comment.
