CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Tickets went on sale this week for Possumstock 2021, Clarksville’s own local music festival.
The seventh annual Possumstock will be held Aug. 20-21 at Pope Farms in Ashland City. The event, which is returning from a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, features acts from Clarksville and nearby communities.

Possumstock started in 2014 on Possum Holler Road as a celebration of Clarksville’s underground music scene, featuring musicians, artists and DIY vendors. The event this year will also include video game tournaments, tabletop games and a whiffle ball tournament.
It’s the largest local music gathering in the area, followed by the Tour de’ Ville bike tour event.
Cody Parson, a local musician and Possumstock organizer, said the festival began as a way of keeping the music scene alive after the closing of The Coup, a popular music venue, in 2014.
“(The Coup) was kind of the local headquarters that our community kind of centered around,” Parson said.
Since then, new businesses have opened to welcome local artists, including Wicked Good Sandwiches, Revel House, &Vinyl and The Back Door, but Possumstock continued to grow. In 2018, the event drew roughly 600 people.
“Not many of us have much in common as far as genre goes, but we all maintain a strong sense of community. I like to think it’s because we recognize that we are one scene united,” Parson said.
This year’s Possumstock is an 18-plus event. Camping is included with ticket purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Food vendors will be available on site, though outside food and drink are allowed.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through Eventbrite.
