FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Yes, Fort Campbell will have a big fireworks show on the Fourth of July this year, but there won’t be the usual carnival.
Both the fireworks show and carnival were canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic. This year, the fireworks are back, and spectators will be allowed to watch from designated viewing lots, according to Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
Each viewing lot will have food sales, portable toilets with hand washing stations, and lot attendants. Attendees are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages, food, blankets, chairs and additional safe items.
The viewing lots will be open from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 4. The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
With no carnival or other events planned, there will be no activities at the Division Parade Field.
This year’s events are designed mainly for military families. The entrace gates will not be open, so non-DoD ID holding visitors from off post will need to stop at a visitor’s center to obtain a pass before entering Fort Campbell.
