Update, 5:15 p.m.: Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm through 5:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Locations impacted include Dickson, Ashland City, Clarksville, White Bluff, Kingston Springs, Pegram, Pleasant View, Charlotte, Vanleer, Slayden, Cheatham Dam, Bells Bend and Cunningham.
This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 199 and 201 and Interstate 24 between mile markers 16 and 17, the NWS alert said.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The storm that passed through downtown at about 4:30 p.m. prompted a Significant Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service.
The advisory is for north central Dickson, central Montgomery County and northwestern Cheatham County until 5 p.m.
At 4:31 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Clarksville, moving southeast at 20 mph with winds in excess of 30 mph possible.
Locations impacted include Clarksville, Pleasant View, Cunningham and Cheatham Dam, including Interstate 24 between mile markers 7 and 17.
