CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Members of the Fort Campbell Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, were busy Tuesday in downtown Clarksville as a semi-truck of supplies were unloaded supporting YAIPaks Outreach and Montgomery County Veterans Coalition.

Charlie Koon, president of the AUSA chapter, said they partnered with the two nonprofits to deliver the goods to local veterans and service members in need.

Koon added that Mike Myer, an AUSA member in Kansas City, manages the Overland Park Rotary Club Care Program that donated the items, and they had support from Feed The Children.

There were 26 pallets unloaded off the truck that included vitamins for men, women and children, toothpaste and toothbrushes, dry shampoo, snacks, Gatorade, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and more.

Sherry Pickering, executive director of the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition, talked about what the items mean to the coalition. “A shipment like this, partnering with AUSA and YAIPaks, will make all the difference in the world,” Pickering said.

Founder and CEO of YAIPaks Outreach Sherry Nicholson shared her excitement for the donated items.

“We are going to be able to add extra needed items into our Totes for Hope for our veterans we serve, and also in our totes for our domestic violence victims. It is all going to be a tremendous gift to those that we are serving,” Nicholson said.
