CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After falling in the two teams’ previous meeting earlier in the year, Clarksville boys basketball evened up the regular-season series with a 78-69 win Friday at home.

The Wildcats came out on fire offensively to start the contest, carrying a 28-14 lead into the second quarter of play.

Jaheim McDonald led all scorers with 26 points, while JJ Wheat and Charles Freeman finished with 16 points each for the Wildcats.

Messiah Ward had a team-high 20 points followed by Ronald Jessamy, who also finished in double figures with 10 points for the Hawks.

Clarksville returns to the floor Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. for a district meeting with Springfield.

Rossview will look to bounce back, beginning with Northwest Monday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Hawks outlast Lady Wildcats for sixth win in a row

Clarksville girls basketball hosted rival Rossview Friday in a crucial District 10-AAA matchup.

After a back-and-forth affair, the Lady Hawks would run away late to pick up a 48-40 win over the Lady Wildcats.

The game was tied at 15-all at the end of the first quarter before Clarksville took a 26-25 lead into the break.

Imari Berry poured in a game-high 22 points, followed by Angel Martin with seven points for the Lady Wildcats.

Emani Collier and Sydney-James Desroches led the Lady Hawks with 11 points each.

Rossview heads to Northwest for its next contest set for Monday, Jan. 25, at 6 p.m.

Clarksville will look to regroup before traveling to Springfield Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m.

Knights battle back for victory over Vikings

Kenwood boys basketball traveled to Northwest Friday in search of a much-needed district win.

After weathering a 13-2 run by the Vikings to the start the game, the Knights fought back and held on late to secure a 55-50 victory.

Kenwood will look to string together back-to-back wins at home against Montgomery Central Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m.

Northwest hosts Rossview Monday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Northwest girls breeze past Kenwood

Northwest girls basketball hosted Kenwood Friday in a district matchup.

The Lady Knights hung around early, but struggled late before falling 62-34.

The Lady Vikings lit it up from beyond the arc in the first half, connecting on four three-pointers in the second quarter alone.

District 10-AAA leader Northwest plays host to second-place Rossview Monday, Jan. 25, at 6 p.m.

Kenwood will go back to the drawing board before hosting Montgomery Central Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m.

Eagles continue hot streak with dominant outing

Northeast boys basketball cruised to an 84-41 road win Friday at Montgomery Central.

Senior Jalen Hooks led all scorers with 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting. Isaiah Farrior also had 11 points, four rebounds and four assists while Khalil Lewis finished with 11 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles.

Northeast hits the road to take on Rossview Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in a pivotal district contest.

Montgomery Central will head to Kenwood Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. for a matchup with the Knights.

Shorthanded Lady Eagles scrape past Lady Indians

Without their leading-scorer Cierra Bowser in the rotation due to injury, Northeast girls basketball found a way to get the job done Friday to earn a 36-30 road victory against Montgomery Central.

Northeast will look to avenge a two-point loss earlier in the season, when they host Rossview Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m.

Montgomery Central will face Kenwood Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m. for their next contest.

Yellowjackets sting Coyotes in district showdown

West Creek boys basketball hit the road Friday, as the Coyotes looked to jump Springfield in the District 10-AAA standings.

Keimarian Flair had other ideas, as the sophomore went for 23 points to help propel the Yellowjackets to a 62-51 win.

West Creek goes back on the road for a meeting with District 10-AAA leader Henry County, Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m.

West Creek girls basketball visited Springfield Friday in search of win number two on the season.

The Lady Yellowjackets jumped out early and often en route to a 63-45 win over the Lady Coyotes.

Lady Cougars remain undefeated in district play

Clarksville Academy girls basketball improved their district record to 9-0 on the year after defeating Nashville Christian Academy 51-28 Friday on the road.

Atyia Moss led the way with 17 points while Shinae Johnson added eight points for the Lady Cougars.

Clarksville Academy will be back in action Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m. on the road against Donelson Christian Academy.
