CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As Montgomery County moves into the 1a2 phase of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan by vaccinating other healthcare workers and those over the age of 75, the infection rates remain consistent throughout the area over the last week.
Since Jan. 9, the number of active cases in Montgomery County has hovered around 2,000 with a fluctuating margin of 200 cases.
In addition, the area has recorded nine more deaths since our last numbers update on Jan. 11, and 10 more residents with the virus have been hospitalized.
How to get the vaccine
In response to widespread frustration with the vaccine rollout, the state of Tennessee added a new website portal and phone number to improve appointment services for COVID-19 vaccinations.
The vaccine registration website for Montgomery County is www.signupgenius.com/go/Montgomery_Priority_List. This website is open only to those who are 75 years or older, or qualify as a frontline worker under the priority list from the state.
Tennessee has now set up a call center with the number 866-442-5301 to assist in scheduling appointments. You can also call the Montgomery County Health Department at 931-648-5747.
