Billy Joe Spicer of Stewart, TN, passed from this life to eternal life in heaven on January 6, 2021. A Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021. The Spicer family will accept friends for visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
He was born on November 6, 1941, to Burch and Adell Spicer of Tennessee Ridge, TN, and grew up in Detroit, MI. He married Kathleen Spicer on December 14, 1959, and they recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004. He was a beloved dad and papa who cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Erin, TN. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8
He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Spicer; children Melody Williams (Lyman), Valerie Braun (Bobby), Diana Spicer, Martin Spicer (Shelly), and Jared Spicer (Krissy); his grandchildren Jessica Laverock (Robert), Kari Edmonds (Terry), Danielle Martinez (Manny), Kathleen Meeker (Brandon), Steven Wilburn, Mark Kuprel, Alex Kuprel, Jacob Spicer (Julie), Alec Spicer, Lily Spicer, William Spicer, and Elijah Spicer; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Spicer, Mackie Spicer, and Wayne Spicer and sister Barbara Rachel, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother David (Buddy) Spicer, and sister Mary Wyatt.
