CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – In October of 2019, fifty-three Sudden Service Convenience Stores from across Middle Tenn and Southern Ky worked together to raise $225,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Since 2008, Sudden Service Convenience Stores have been raising money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. To date, the locally-owned chain of service stops has raised over $1.5 million for the non-profit.
Sudden Service operates 53 stores across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. Their efforts were supported by Pepsi Bottling Co, Red Bull, and Miller-Coors, along with the dedication and generosity of their customers.

Ronnie Hollingsworth, owner of Sudden Service, started collecting money for St. Jude in his convenience stores in 2008. Hollingsworth credits his mother, Marjorie Hollingsworth, who was very passionate about the organization.
Sudden Service Convenience Stores are divided into six districts. The store that raises the most money from each district sends the manager to tour St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
In September 2020, Sudden Service will again begin collecting donations through their food trailer. Guests can get a meal for a donation and the stores will begin collecting donations in October.
