CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Regional Airport will be hosting two vintage open cockpit ride experiences.
Also known as Outlaw Field, the Clarksville Regional Airport will be offering the experience from Monday, October 14 until Wednesday, October 16, from 10 a.m until 6 p.m daily.
A 1942 Boeing Stearman, flown by Rob “Waldo” Lock, will accommodate one passenger at a time, and the passenger will have the opportunity to fly the airplane for 20 minutes. The cost of the ride is $200 per person. There is a 275 lbs or less weight limit per passenger and all guests must be taller than 5 feet tall.
The plane was the top trainer of WWII, qualifying over 250,000 cadets.
Another airplane, a 1929 Travel Air 4000, flown by David “Candyman” Mars, will accommodate rides to two passengers at a time. The cost is $90 per person and all ages are welcome. There is a weight limit per passenger of 220 lbs or less.
The plane was built by aviation legends Lloyd Stearman, Clyde Cessna, and Walter Beech.
