CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police arrested a man previously convicted of felonies with outstanding warrants
CPD officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle at 502 Providence Blvd on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, around 1 p.m. One of the men inside of the vehicle, Ramone Piere Gholston, was known to have outstanding warrants including one accusing him of aggravated robbery.
A black bag was found in the car containing a substance suspected to be heroin, a .38 special handgun, and other drugs.
In July 2007, Gholston was convicted by a jury of facilitation of first-degree felony murder and facilitation of especially aggravated robbery in connection with the July 2004 death of Shane Crossley, who was beaten to death.
He was sentenced to 21 years in prison and began serving his sentence in July 2004. His sentence would have completed by June 2020. He is currently on a parole status, according to the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
Due to his felony conviction, he is not to possess a firearm and ammunition. Additionally, he was charged in conjunction with a March 2019, aggravated robbery in which a man was robbed and struck in the head with a gun. There were also other warrants involving the city and county.
Ramone Gholston, 33 was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated robbery, felony evading, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia and drivers license required. His bond was set at $604,000.
