CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police responded to an armed robbery at 523 Dover Rd (Kangaroo Mart) around 2:12 a.m. on the morning of January 22.

According to a report from CPD, the clerk at the Kangaroo Mart stated that a black male demanded money from the register after pointing a handgun at him. The clerk then complied, giving him the amount of $20 from the cash register.

The suspect then exited the business and fled the scene in a green, four door car. Officers located the vehicle on Lafayette Rd and the driver refused to stop. MCSO Deputies located the vehicle and stopped it near Woodlawn Park which is located in the county, just off Dover Road. The driver was then identified as Shannon Lamont Bowers. The store clerk was transported to the traffic stop location and identified Mr. Bowers as the man who robbed him.

Mr. Bowers admitted to the robbery during an interview and was arrested and booked into Montgomery County Jail.
