NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Matthew WalkerComprehensive Health Center (MWCHC) is excited to announce the Clarksville debut of their first mobile clinic. The mobile clinic will be unveiled as part of “Women in Clarksville,” a health and wellness event taking place at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 1188 Cumberland Drive on June 23 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
In an effort to extend services beyond their three brick-and-mortar clinics, the MWCHC mobile clinic will provide healthcare access to under served populations throughout Davidson and Montgomery Counties. There are additional plans to extend services along the I-24 corridor to additional rural counties.
The unit will replicate services provided at MWCHC’s brick-and-mortar clinics and provide well-child and well-adult screenings, women’s health screenings, school and sports physicals, and behavioral health.
Clarksville First Lady, Cynthia Pitts, will celebrate the new unit by being its first patient. Following her screening, event patrons can utilize the unit’s services for free. Services include blood pressure screenings, HIV screenings, BMI, hemoglobin for anemia and HgbA1c for diabetes.
“MWCHC purchased this unit to open the possibility that people will have access to care in their community,” says Katina Beard, CEO of MWCHC. “This mobile clinic could be the answer many people need to improve their health.”
The MWCHC mobile unit will staff three to five employees who will operate the unit weekly at various locations throughout the Middle Tennessee region. Further information about specific locations will be announced at a later date.
MWCHC has three main locations, Nashville, Clarksville and Smyrna and provides quality and affordable care for all patients both insured and uninsured with comprehensive services including dental services, family practice medicine, pediatric care, internal medicine, radiology services, family planning, gynecological care, obstetrical care, social services and behavioral health.
