CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A suspect in several recent vehicle thefts and a vehicular assault was captured Friday, ending a day long manhunt.
32-year-old Dustin Ryan Williams was arrested around noon Friday in the area of Woods Road in Montgomery County.
He’s charged with three counts of Auto Theft, two counts of Evading Arrest, Leaving the Scene of an Accident involving Death or Injury, and Driving on a Suspended/Revoked license.
Williams is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $255,000 bond.
According to authorities, his apprehension was a joint effort of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, and the APSU GIS Center.
The charges are related to three vehicle thefts and a vehicular assault/hit and run Thursday at the Kroger Gas Station on Lowes Drive in Clarksville.
Williams was at large for more than 24 hours. Montgomery County deputies conducted a search late into the night Thursday but called it off after heavy rain hampered visibility. He was spotted early Friday on Highway 12.
The Sheriff’s Office credits Mt. Hermon Baptist Church for allowing them to use their facilities during the search and the public for tips they provided.
