CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- (CLARKSVILLENOW) Carol Berry is running for Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board District 1 in the general election on August 2, 2018.
Berry was born and raised in Lafayette, Alabama and graduated from Lafayette High School with honors. She then obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in English/Language Arts from Texas College in Tyler, Texas. She proceeded to obtaining a Masters of Education Degree from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Berry has been a resident of Clarksville for over 23 years.
She has taught in Missouri, Texas, Department of Defense in Germany, and Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools and retired from CMCSS in May 2015.Berry served as the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association President between the years of 2010 and 2012.
She is also the founder and president of the Miss Black Clarksville Scholarship Program. This non-profit organization has awarded over 120 scholarships, giving $95,000 to Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell students.
Carol Berry has been married to Ronny Berry for 42 years. She and her husband have one daughter, Caronda Rasin who is married to O.J. Rasin and three granddaughters Ajayla, Alison, and Ava.
Berry says, “I am a caring, compassionate and committed servant for the people. Help me make a difference in our community by electing me to serve you on the CMCSS School Board in District 1.”
