CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, along with church and community leaders, supporters, homeowner families and friends, celebrated the completion of construction on two brand new homes at dedication ceremonies in Clarksville on Saturday, December 16.

Following each of the dedication ceremonies, attendees were able to tour the new three bedroom, 1 ½ bathroom, single-family homes, which were made possible due to generous sponsors, donated materials, volunteer labor, and the dedication and commitment of the homeowner families.

“We are so proud and blessed to have a new home to call our own,” said Faith Eiland, one of the new Habitat homeowners. “We were there every step of the way and helped with everything from the foundation to the roof of our home.”

Like all Habitat homeowners, these families contributed a minimum of 500 hours of “sweat equity” working on the construction of their home and the homes of others and participated in educational programs designed to strengthen the entire family and help to ensure their success as new homeowners. The new homeowners will continue to make monthly payments on a low-cost, no-interest mortgage, which in turn will go toward building more Habitat Broward homes.

Home sponsors for Montgomery County Habitat’s 93rd home was The American Snuff company and home 94 was an Apostles Build. Twelve churches: Immaculate Conception, Trinity Episcopal, First Presbyterian, Madison Street UMC, Mt. Carmel UMC, Walton’s Chapel UMC, Sango UMC, Fellowship UMC, Hilldale UMC, Deliverance Outreach Temple, Grace Nazarene and Living Word Church came together both financially and with labor to sponsor the first Apostles Build.

“These sponsors have been long-time supporters of Habitat in Montgomery County, and thanks to their passion, commitment and generosity we have been able to make the dream of safe, affordable homeownership a reality for two more deserving families,” said Erica Outlaw, Executive Director of Habitat of Montgomery County.
