CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Austin Peay State University’s newest homecoming queen and king were announced during halftime festivities today at the Governors football game against UT Martin on Saturday.
Dani Marguerite Joslin, a biology major from Bowling Green, Ky. was selected as the 2013 APSU Homecoming Queen and Trevor Brand, a health and human performance major from Dickson, Tenn. was selected as Homecoming King.
Joslin is a senior and member of Eta Gamma chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, who sponsored her bid for homecoming queen. She has served in various leadership roles and been an active member of the Austin Peay student body since entering as a freshman.
Among her notable accomplishments, Joslin has served on the Provost Student Advisory Committee, she has been selected to be a Governors Ambassador, Peer Mentor, Residence Hall Director, Community Programming Director, Science and Math Academy Camp Counselor, LifeSkills Coach and Educator, served as an intern at Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance and served as a student worker in the President’s Office.
Joslin has also volunteered for the Manna Café, Dance Marathon, Color Run: Nashville, Ronald McDonald House, as well as helped with several charitable efforts both in her home town and on campus.
Brand, a junior, is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and also a member of Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity who sponsored his bid for homecoming king.
During his time at Austin Peay, Brand has been selected for multiple leadership roles, including Governors Ambassadors, Student Organization Treasurer and a Residential Housing Director. He was also selected for Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year students and is also a Buhler Scholarship recipient.
Other nominees for homecoming king and queen were Coya Massey, an accounting major from Fayetteville, Tenn., Joe Harms, a physics major from Belleville, Ill., Hannah Farrar, a biology major from Milan, Tenn., Daniel Pitts, a mathematics major from Erin, Tenn., Kelsey Smith, a biology major from Ashland City, Tenn., Ben Sterling, a public management major from Knoxville, Tenn. and Mallory Johnson, an interdisciplinary studies major from Franklin, Ky.
