CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay State University (APSU) basketball player Joshua Robinson has been suspended from the team following an arrest on drug charges Tuesday.

According to a statement from APSU, Robinson has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules stemming from the arrest.

“We will allow the due process of the legal system and the investigation to run its course before taking further action,” athletics director Ryan Ivey said.

Robinson’s booking information shows he was charged with simple possession and manufacture, delivery of a Schedule VI drug (marijuana).

His arrest warrant says an officer was in the parking lot of Mapco on Madison St. and smelled marijuana while walking back to his patrol car. The officer said he saw a Kia Optima parked by the pumps and the smell got stronger as he approached it.

Robinson and Keith Inge were inside the vehicle at the time, according to the warrant.

When the officer searched the vehicle, he reportedly found an open vacu-seal bag containing 151 grams of marijuana, as well as 11 used blunt portions in an ashtray.

Neither suspect claimed ownership of the marijuana.

Robinson was the top scorer for the team this season and received multiple honors throughout, including first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference and Tennessee Sports Writers Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
