CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Chicago police have arrested a third person in relation to the murder of a man on Royster Lane in Clarksville last month.
Police took 20-year-old Deangelo Berry into custody Monday on Criminal Homicide charges stemming from the shooting death of Joseph Gordon.
Berry will be booked into the Chicago, IL jail pending the extradition process.
Two Fort Campbell soldiers, Robert Gough and Marqus Bryant, were charged earlier with criminal homicide in the case.
Gordon’s body was found in an apartment complex parking lot on Royster Lane Friday. An arrest warrant said he had been shot in the head.
Police were able to identify Bryant’s vehicle from surveillance footage. When he was brought in for questioning, he admitted to police that he drove Gough and Gough’s friend “Delo” (Deangelo Berry) to meet with Gordon to purchase marijuana. He said he parked the car and Gough got in the car with Gordon.
Gough, who was also interviewed by police, said while he was in the car with Gordon discussing the drug deal, Delo got out of Bryant’s car and attempted to rob Gordon at gunpoint before ultimately shooting him.
Bryant then told police that he drove Gough and Delo away from the scene to a nearby residence where he witnessed them divide up the marijuana stolen from Gordon.
