NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) confirmed that authorities have located the vehicle belonging to a missing Fort Campbell soldier, PFC Shadow Branice McClaine (also known as Branice Willis).

McClaine did not report for duty at Fort Campbell, Kentucky on September 6.

McClaine’s 2013, 2-door, silver, Hyundai Elantra was located Tuesday in a downtown Nashville private parking lot with the assistance of the Metro Nashville Police Department.

WKRN News 2 reports that the car was found in the Premiere parking lot located at Seventh Avenue and Commerce Street.

Police spokeswoman Kris Mumford told News 2 a parking lot attendant recognized the two-door car and called police.

Metro police then responded to the scene and stayed with the car until Army officials later arrived.

On Wednesday crews from Veteran Search and Recovery Program (VetSAR) gathered to search for the 25-year-old woman.

News 2 spoke with Shadow’s mother, London Wegrzyn, who says her daughter wouldn’t “just go away.”

“We talk every day,” she said. “This is definitely something that is not her character at all.”

Wegrzyn said she last spoke to Shadow on September 2.

“She texted that she was driving and I asked her how she was doing and I told her to stop texting and driving. She texted back ‘haha,’ and that was the last I heard from her,” she said.

Her mother told News 2 she believes there is foul play involved.

“Back in May her brake lines were cut,” Wegrzyn said. “We still don’t know who did that. That was an assault on her life and now she is missing. It is just too coincidental.”

McClaine is is a 25-year-old, white female with brown hair and brown eyes.
