CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A pickup truck hit a utility pole and fire hydrant on Crossland Avenue Thursday morning, taking out a traffic signal.
At about 10 a.m., Clarksville Police responded to the single-vehicle crash at Crossland and Talley Drive/Pageant Lane. A gray Ford F-150 struck the pole, knocking out the traffic signal, damaging a fire hydrant, and bringing down utility lines, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.
The driver was transported to Vanderbilt Emergency Sango with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
“As utility crews work to replace the damaged pole and restore the traffic signal, Crossland Avenue is closed from Central Boulevard to Pageant Lane,” Beaubien said. “Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until repairs are complete.” The roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours.
Personnel from the Clarksville Department of Electricity, Clarksville Gas & Water, Clarksville Fire Rescue and Montgomery County EMS also responded.
